You’ve seen the t-shirts on Bob Burnquitst’s
t-shirt as he won the #1 title for best double skate with Buckey
Lasssic at X Games IX, on Jen O’Brien ripping it on MTV’s
“Triple Threat”, and on the “The Bachelors”,
Ryan Sutter, represented on E Hollywood Access. The ASEC logo is
appearing all over and in unexpected places. What’s been an
underground influence now surfaces as a big time inspiration. With
the endorsement of ESPN, DC Shoes, Ipath, Independent Trucks, Element
and Conscious Media, ASEC brings the 1st FSC (Forest Stewardship
Council certified wood harvest) skate ramp to the LOHAS Conference
May 12-14 2004 in Marina del Rey, California.
With the skate park and mini ramp comes the big names: Danny Way,
Geoff Rowley, Bob Burnquist, Cara Beth Burnside, Jen O’Brien
and many more.
The demo is being announced by none other than the infamous Dave
Dunken of ESPN and Winter Olympics acclaim. The eco skate park will
then travel from Marina del Rey inland to the Salvation Army community
youth center located in South Central LA, where it will find it's
home and bring skateboarding to the hood. Many actions sports companies
are donating skateboards, t-shirts, and all kinds of action sports
goods to the kids in these neighborhoods. No kid will be kept from
skating for reason of poverty- this is the real no child left behind
program.
From community to unity, ASEC is bridging the gap.
